Robert E. Kiebitz (1931-2016)

Past LPSA President (1998-2000) Bob Kiebitz died in Sarasota FL on May 25, 2016, after a short illness. Bob had resided on Siesta Key since 1993, and had been a summer resident on Lake Pleasant since he and his late wife Cindy purchased "Cindamar", owned by Cindy's late parents, Al and Ashley Walrath, from Cindy's siblings.  Bob and Cindy had two grown children and six grandchildren.

Bob grew up on Long Island and lived for many years in Huntington. His career centered on 30+ years with the Grumman Corporation, where he rose to project director and director of business development. He was a lead coordinator on the LEM Project that led to the first landing on the moon.

In Sarasota, Bob served on the board and was treasurer of the Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation and was active with the Sarasota Arts Festival and the Siesta Key Association.

Bob married Jane Summerville in 2006. Jane served as a LPSA Director from 2007-2013 and as Secretary for three years. Their presence on Lake Pleasant ended in September 2014 upon the sale of Cindamar.
